The Journey From Confusion to Clarity

The Journey From Confusion to Clarity

Aarav was nervously playing with his fingers and tapping on the table. You see, he was waiting for his 10th board exam results to be announced but, he was also confused about what he would do after that. Aarav’s best friend Khushi was thinking of taking up Arts, as she wanted to be a fashion designer. His brother Milind had pursued business management studies. His father wanted him to take up Science to become a marine engineer, whereas his mother wanted him to choose Commerce and become a CA. What did he want? Well, that was the biggest dilemma! This scenario is very common and relatable, isn’t it?

To help you gain clarity let me take you through the academic streams available for you to choose in Grade 11 and 12. The choice of these subjects will guide you towards the different possible courses after school.

Science- This stream is most sought after with those having a scientific and enquiring bent of mind. The main subjects offered here are physics, chemistry, maths and biology along with optional subjects of your choice. This stream is the prerequisite for courses such as engineering, architecture, medicine, biotechnology, life sciences, microbiology, and food technology to name a few.

Commerce- This stream is most sought after with those having an interest in numbers and business studies. The main subjects offered here are business studies, accountancy, computers, economics and maths along with  optional subjects of your choice. This stream is the prerequisite for courses such as banking and finance, chartered accountancy, actuarial sciences, and statistics honours to name a few.

Arts- This stream is most sought after by those having a creative and intrusive bent of mind. The main subjects offered here are psychology, sociology, political science, economics and fine arts along with optional subjects of your choice. This stream is a prerequisite for courses such as sculptor, animator, graphic designer, psychologist, journalist, language arts, and criminology to name a few.

Vishwajyot High School has been ranked as the number 1 ICSE school in Navi Mumbai and number 7 in Mumbai.  We at Vishwajyot High School now offer all three streams for grades 11 and 12- science, commerce and arts. The arts stream was successfully launched last year. Vishwajyot High School follows the ICSE board in the class 12th  examinations.  The advantage is that each subject is covered with a good amount of depth so that all the concepts are clear and properly understood by the students. We offer a lot of options when it comes to choosing the subjects a student wants to study. There is a further emphasis on fluency in English by which the students are more confident and articulate in English speaking.

The students also become active in problem-solving and practical skills with the help of the curriculum that prepares them for all kinds of competitive exams. Vishwajyot High School also guides them in career crafting to help them identify the right career path for themselves. This approach of Vishwajyot High School encourages students to use their intuition, imagination and creativity to learn and discover a new world where an integrated curriculum balances academics and extracurricular activities. This approach allows children to grow holistically by integrating subject matter expertise and life skills thus creating the perfect balance by preparing the student for getting admission into the best professional courses.

We hope these guidelines have helped you to choose your desired stream after Grade 10. We wish you the very best in your life and may each child discover their own unlimited potential and grow in their career in leaps and bounds.
