Vishwajyot High School was born out of a passion to reform education in India, in the year 2004. At Vishwajyot, our mission is to unlock every person's learning potential by helping them discover about themselves and around the world.
Learning is all about actively seeking answers and solutions rather than just focusing on what’s been said or read. At Vishwajyot, we believe that this trait is critical in creating leaders of tomorrow - individuals who are equipped to deal with the problems of the next generation rather than the past one.
Our pedagogies are based on the theories of global experts such as Dr. Rudolf Steiner (founder of Constructivism) and Dr. Howard Gardner (Harvard School of Education).
Sushma Dhumal is a lifelong teacher and the driving force behind the Vishwajyot Group of Schools. It was while teaching at schools such as St. Xaviers, Mumbai, that Mrs. Dhumal realised that the system of education in our country needed a complete overhaul. With this vision in minds, she started Vishwajyot High School in a small rowhouse in 2004 with 30 students in the first batch. Over the years she has travelled and researched extensively on different teaching methodologies and has distilled her learning into the curriculum at Vishwajyot. She has a PGDME from Mumbai University.
Vishwas Dhumal is an IAS officer (batch of 1973) who retired as the Principal Secretary, Maharashtra State in 2007. It was his mother’s dream to build a school, which was brought to life with the establishment of Vishwajyot High School. Mr. Dhumal brings on board his wealth of experience in running large projects.
